Due to my newfound coffee love, I have been eager to try every item on the menu at Starbucks. I also enjoy festivities, so with that being said, I HAD to get a Valentine’s Day drink off of the secret menu this week. When I stumbled upon the “Love Bean Frappuccino”, I instantly fell in love.
If you were not aware, a frappuccino is a frozen drink made at Starbucks that gets blended together in a blender. For the Love Bean Frappuccino, the main thing you need to know (if you’re familiar with Starbucks) is that it is a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with extra things added to it. So when you order it, the first thing you would say is that you want a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino.
Next, you would ask them to add raspberry syrup to the frappuccino. The size of the drink is what decides how much raspberry (and vanilla) you put in your drink. For all of my people who are not familiar with Starbucks, a small is called a tall, a medium is called a grande, and a large is called a venti. If you want a tall, you will get one pump of raspberry, 2 for the grande and 3 for the venti. You are also able to add more pumps to it if you want it to be extra sweet.
Once the milk, vanilla, creme base, ice, and raspberry are in the drink, you are ready for it to be blended. Fun fact if you want your frappuccino to be a little thicker and less runny, you can add extra ice to it. If you want it to be more like a liquidy drink, you can ask for less ice in it. Once blended, the Love Bean Frappuccino is topped with raspberry infused whipped cream and chocolate curls, and it is ready to go!
Although this is one of the drinks from the secret menu that does not include coffee in it (a vanilla bean frappuccino NEVER has coffee in it unless specifically asked), I still enjoyed it a lot. I am a fan of raspberry flavored things, so I was not surprised that I enjoyed the drink. What made this drink stand out a lot for me was the bright color. The color of the drink is what made me notice it online, and honestly, I thought that because of the color, the drink was going to be way too sweet for my liking.
That was not the case at all, and the raspberry mixed with vanilla did a really good job at keeping a good balance of sweetness in the drink. When I ordered that drink, I got a grande size, so the amount of raspberry in the drink was just right. I also got my drink with extra ice because I like my frozen drinks to be very thick and solid. I would recommend this drink to anyone who likes frozen drinks, especially to those people who are not a fan of caffeine.
The good news is there is no caffeine in this drink at all so if you do not like coffee or the taste of caffeine you are safe over here. If I could change one thing on my drink, I would not get the chocolate curls on top. The drink itself was not chocolatey, so for some people, it would have been a great thing to top it off with, but for me, it threw off the sweet taste of the drink slightly.
