Though Charlotte posted four hits in Sunday’s game  against Notre Dame, the 49ers couldn’t push any runs across the plate and fell 4-0 to cap off the Citrus Classic.

Charlotte (15-7) started with junior Haley Wiseman on the mound. The right handed pitcher gave up four runs off of four hits and three walks in her 2.2 innings in the circle. Alison Green came in for relief, getting the Niners out of a bases loaded situation in the third inning.

Green only allowed one hit during her 3.1 inning campaign while striking out two of thee 11 batters she faced.

Junior Haley Pace had another two-hit outing Sunday afternoon. Pace’s .479 batting average is the best in Conference USA. Emma Ocker and Meredith Harris also recorded hits during the contest.

The game was scoreless heading into the bottom of the second inning. A three-run homerun from Notre Dame’s Katie Marino over the left field wall.

The Fighting Irish struck again the the third inning, putting one more run on the board to create the final score of 4-0.

Charlotte is back in action Tuesday when they head to Chapel Hill to take on the Tarheels. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
