The No. 11 seed Charlotte 49ers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first round of the Conference USA tournament but ultimately fell to No. 6 seed Louisiana Tech, 4-2.

Charlotte gained their first point after Victoria Pahlett/Tai Martin and Tyler Baker/Macy Vonderschmidt toppled their competition in doubles.

Vonderschmidt carried her momentum into the singles matchup and defeated Louisiana Tech’s Marta Sramkova, 6-3, 6-2. The Lady Techsters then battled back to regain control and top the 49ers on the afternoon.

The tournament match marked the final appearance for senior Baker. While her match decision was not counted, Baker finished her season with a team-high 19 singles wins including the fall tournaments.
