Ladies, this is it. I have found the one stop shop for all of your eye-makeup needs: the Smoked Palette by Urban Decay.

This eye shadow palette includes ten different shadows, a black eyeliner gel pencil and a travel size eye shadow base all in one thin, zip close pouch. It even has a mirror for on-the-go touch ups.

It is small enough to slip in to an evening bag and has enough variety to create everything from dramatic formal looks to everyday styles.

With this mini makeup genius comes a “look book,” a step-by-step instruction guide on how to create different masterpieces with the Smoked Palette.

I asked my suitemates to pick out their favorite and let me do their makeup. On freshman Haley Russell, I brushed on the Red Carpet look; and on freshman Caryn Bedford, I went through the steps for smoldering.

“It really makes me look like I’m on a red carpet,” Russell answered when asked about her look.

The Smoked pallet is available in most Ulta and Sephora stores for $49. I know that approximately $50 is not exactly college-budget worthy, but consider this: ten shadows (each $18), an eyeliner ($19), travel sized primer potion ($16) and a free look book. Totaled that equals $215, not including tax. That palette is not sounding so bad now, is it?

I asked Bedford if she thought the pallet was worth the price, and she said, “That’s a great deal because the colors are versatile and they last a long time.”

I got the palette for Christmas, and after using it almost daily, it shows little wear.

I love how I can subtly use the purple color to make my brown eyes pop for a day look, then add more dimension for a going out, evening style. The palette is versatile and comes with the basics.

The primer potion by Urban Decay is a must have for any woman’s cosmetic bag. This travel sized primer keeps eye makeup smear and smudge free for 24 hours and does not make your eyelid greasy or sticky.

I definitely give the whole package five stars.
