Senate Update: OrgSync to become NinerConnect, new student orgs

The UNC Charlotte Student Government Association (SGA) held their seventh weekly student senate legislative meeting of the year Feb. 23.

Secretary for Student Affairs speaks on Food Crew, Trucks for NinerPoolza

Secretary for Student Affairs Reginald Cobbins spoke to Senate about Food Crew and said they would begin tabeling soon. He also secured three food trucks for NinerPoolza which will sell macaroni and cheese, barbecue and funnel cakes.

OrgSync to become NinerConnect

OrgSync is being customized for UNC Charlotte users, which will include the name change to NinerConnect. The changes will be made either by April 1 or by summer soar sessions at the latest. 

New Student Organizations

Men’s Nursing Association – This organization allows male nursing student to gather, socialize and share a love for nursing.

Tigers for Tigers – This organization is a branch of the National Tigers for Tigers Coalition that is dedicated to bringing awareness of the plight of wild tigers and the efforts to save them to the students, faculty and surrounding community.

Niner Cypher – This club will unite and create a platform for emcees and rappers, from both the student body and local community, to gather weekly and hold Hip-Hop freestyle cyphers.

Longboarding Club – This club encourages an active lifestyle through skating and plans to teach new members how to longboard and promote proper longboarding etiquette.

New Secretary for Internal Affairs

Tenecia Jones was approved the new Secretary for Internal Affairs.
