Crime Blotter: Feb. 13 – 24

The following are reports of criminal and other incidents received by Police & Public Safety from Feb. 13 to 19.

Accident

Feb 16

East Deck – Subject stated an unknown person struck her vehicle that was parked and unoccupied.

Feb 17

Craver Road – Driver of vehicle one struck the rear of vehicle two that was stopped at a traffic light.

Feb 22

West Deck –  Officer took a report of a hit and run.

Cameron Boulevard – While waiting to make a left hand turn, vehicle two was struck in the rear by vehicle one. No injuries were reported.

Feb 23

Lot 19 – While backing out of a marked parking space, driver of vehicle one struck the driver side of vehicle two. No injuries were reported.

Feb 24

Lot 23 – Drivers of vehicle one stated that while pulling out of a parking spot, they struck vehicle two. No injuries were reported.

Lot 19 – While backing out of a marked parking space, driver of vehicle one struck the driver side of vehicle two. No injuries were reported.

University Road and Cameron Boulevard – While traveling on University Road, vehicle one went through a fence, down an embankment and hit a tree. It was later determined that the driver had fallen asleep behind the wheel. No charges were filed.0

Alcohol Violation 

Feb 22

Lynch Hall – Officer issued a State Citation in reference to possession of alcohol by a person less than 21 years of age.

Lynch Hall – Officer issued a Campus Appearance Ticket in reference to possession of alcohol by a person less than 21 years of age.

Hunt Hall – Officer issued a State Citation in reference to the consumption of an alcoholic beverage by a person less than 21 years of age

Arrest

Feb. 14

Belk Gymnasium – Officers arrested subject for second degree trespass.

Assault

Feb 13

CRI Deck – Subject was assaulted by a known person. Subject declined MEDIC.

Feb 14

Craver Road – Subject grabbed the victim’s arm injuring it slightly.

Drug Violation

Feb 13

Moore Hall – Officer issued a Campus Appearance Ticket in reference to possession of drug paraphernalia.

Moore Hall – Officer issued a State Citation in reference to possession of drug paraphernalia

Feb 16

Laurel Hall – Officer issued a State Citation in reference to possession of drug paraphernalia.

Laurel Hall – Officer issued three Campus Appearance Tickets in reference to an odor of marijuana.

Feb 23

South Village Deck – Officer issued a Campus Appearance Ticket in reference to the possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
South Village Deck – Officer issued two State Citations in reference to the possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Feb 24
South Village Deck – Officer issued three State Citations in reference to the possession of drugs.

Larceny 

Feb 14

Oak Hall – Unknown person(s) removed victim’s bicycle that was left secured in a public area.

Feb 15

Smith Building – Unknown person(s) removed victim’s laptop from a bag that was left unsecured in a public area.

College of Education Building – Unknown person(s) removed a picture from the wall in the College of Education building.

Feb 19

Atkins Library – Subject stated that an unknown person stole his wallet that was sitting on a table in the library. The wallet was later brought to the police department by an officer as lost and found.

Medic Assist

Feb 18

King Building- Subject stated she missed the last step and fell injuring her ankle. Subject denied transport by MEDIC.

Weapon Violation

Feb 13

Moore Hall – Officer issued a State Citation in reference to a weapon violation.
