One of UNC Charlotte's newest clubs explores paranormal activity on and around campus
One of the newest clubs at UNC Charlotte looking to make a big impact on campus is the Ghost Hunting Club. The club began unofficially in 2012, but is now recognized as a campus organization.
With close to 15 members, the club hopes to grow and gain notoriety this year. Junior, Gregory Jones is the founder and president of the club and says that the club is open to any UNC Charlotte students.
“We take anyone whether you’re an outright 100% skeptic to the complete believer. We think skepticism is healthy, so we welcome it,” shared Jones.
Most recently, the club completed a three-hour investigation of McKnight Hall on campus. During the investigation, they used an arrangement of equipment including video/audio recorders, full spectrum setups and EMF detectors.
“We had a great turnout for the investigation and were able to find a lot of good stuff,” noted Jones.
Jones said that students should expect to have fun if they are involved in this club while doing something brand new. He also shared that the night hours the club meets make it much easier to fit into a busy schedule.
“I love finding out that there are so many other people like me that are open to paranormal investigation,” said Jones.
The club hopes to continue investigating parts of campus in coming months, specifically Halton Arena, the gardens and the graveyard by the baseball field.
